What a stunning addition to the Rossler Foundation books! I did not think I could possibly be more riveted and engrossed than I was while reading the previous books, but The Sword of Cyrus has impressed me once again. This book was so well-written and perfectly executed that it’s difficult to capture everything I feel in one measly little review. From cover to cover I was unable to put the book down; I was locked for hours within the intriguing pages of this action-packed and suspenseful technothriller.JC Ryan has a real talent for capturing the reality of the horror and the tension of every plot twist, making you feel like you’re right there with the characters; their struggles are your struggles. I feel like it must have taken a TON of research and hard work to develop this book as expertly as the author has done. The exploration of political conflict and religion fanaticism are masterfully written. What really hooked me were the characters. Every one of them was so real to me, and I was deeply invested in the conflict.
Overall, this was a fantastic reading experience, and I would love to see these stories on the big screen someday. I did like the chapter titles in the previous book a bit more, because I felt they were more lighthearted and humorous, but these ones were more serious. I felt like this book had a much darker vibe, which was part of what made it so captivating. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys any sort of truly intense mystery, thriller, or suspense.

Having completed book four with a slight sadness that it's over....so far....hint, hint please another book in the series! I think a few things did come across as a little far fetched, and perhaps unbelievably. But that is up to the author to spin a story that could be, just might be true one day. If makes me look at all the conflicts that are happening in the world, all the race and religious wars...the hate some people have towards their common man...it needs to STOP!! We are all inhabitants of this ONE great world we call Earth. Terror in any shape or form needs to be STAMPED OUT!!!! This was a great series that is well worth a read, and I say go Roy!!
I am getting hard pressed for exclamations of enjoyment of this series and appreciations to JC RYAN. He writes a great story, that allows me to sit on the couch as I read it but to push myself to exhaustion to reach the finish, which then wish l’d not been in such a hurry. Well, the only solution is to proceed to Book 5 .. see ya later
I love this series. The premise of this book in the series was very sad, but very possible. I saw a program on the learning channel that explored the fact that there are individuals whose DNA was affected by the Plague in Europe during the Dark Ages and that change makes their descendents more resistant to infection by HIV. Genes such as the BRACC 1 and 2 can predict our suseptibility to breast cancer. JC Ryan has a great series going. Each book explores new possibilities that could have existed in a long long past and what could become in a possible future. Although I hope this scenario never comes to pass. If it should I'd want the Rossler Foundation on it.
The fourth novel in the Rosseler Foundation series, and by far the one with the most geopolitical ramifications.
Out of the ashes of defeat at the end of the "Genetic Bullets" comes yet another pretender to the thrown that would like nothing more than to destroy the Rosseler Foundation, take all the 10th Cycle information for their own, and reek havoc on the rest of the world. Lots of subterfuge and misdirection here with an outcome that one is never entirely sure of. I was up until 2am finishing this one - much like I had with the previous three novels of the series.
I'm hoping there is still more to come, as there are many unexplained ancient artifacts around the world that could be used as focal points of future stories.
Given the current tension between the US and the middle east, JC Ryan's "Sword of Cyrus" contains some very feasible plots that parallels today's world events. In this fourth book of the Rossler Foundation series, a group of scientists call themselves The Sword of Cyrus. They develop a nuclear weapon that is both powerful and extremely dangerous. It's the type of technology that if put into the wrong hands, it can essentially destroy the world.
I a love a good thriller, and the "Sword of Cyrus" is just that. It's an exciting read from start to finish---I seriously couldn't put the book down. JC Ryan writes another well-crafted story complete with intriguing and well-developed characters and dynamic story-telling. This is definitely an author to watch.
I agree with another reviewer that alliterative names and random switching between first and last names create confusion and adds zero value. BUT my biggest criticism applies equally to the proceeding 9th cycle book. Way too often the characters make decisions to do or do not do things that any thinking person would never consider. It's totally out of character for these smart dudes and dudettes. These speed bumps force us to frustratingly travel down periodic detours that needlessly elongate the story.
Well Mr Ryan did it again. He wrapped up this series in exciting fashion. Very interesting cast of characters with some new bad villains. What is scary to me is that something like this could very well happen You'll have to read it to find out what it is. About the time I couldn't see where the story line was going. he changed gears and left me in shock. He wrapped it up with a bang and left me feeling in total satisfaction in the end. Very exciting ending to a great series. I highly recommend this book, but it would be better to read the first books of the series before moving on to this one
